Interfaith Council Bestows Tikkun Olam Award on Eleven Winery

Tikkun Olam means “Heal the World” in Hebrew. The Bainbridge Island/North Kitsap Interfaith Council has decided that Eleven Winery is doing just that through its business practices, and they gave the company its highest award. They praised Eleven for its “focus on sustainability” and “environmentally green” practices.

Hunt, Satterwhite, and Dequine

In accepting the award at the BINK IC June meting, Eleven owner Matt Albee said that he hopes his company gets much bigger, but promised it would not be at the expense of his commitment to making the world a better place. “It’s not just about money,” he said. Kent Chadwich of Rolling Bay Presbyterian presented the award.

O’Keefe, Satterwhite, and Equine

Graduating seniors Talia Hunt of the LDS church and Ian O’Keefe of St. Barnabas were also honored by BINK IC with Bob Satterwhite Memorial Scholarships for their leadership, service, and caring for the community growing out of their faith traditions. In bestowing the awards, Satterwhite’s son Rob and Elizabeth Dequine of BINK IC noted the students’ consistent and wide-ranging engagement in compassionate action.

Taylor Cozine of Grace Episcopal received an honorable mention.
